Maca Magic : One of the most
powerful primal foods on earth!
Maca is widely
recognised for its highly nutritional and
medicinal properties. It's high in calcium
and minerals, and also the fatty acids
needed for nourishment of the body and
brain. Specifically, it will help your
body to rebalance its endocrine and
hormonal systems. In turn, this will
improve your own health and sense of
wellbeing. Maca has a specific reputation
for helping to alleviate the following
conditions:
- Low libido
- Sperm motility
and erectile disfunction in men.
- Lack of
mental clarity and focus
- Depression and
mood swings
- Low energy and fatigue from
adrenal exhaustion
- Lack of stamina and
endurance in sports and physical exertion
- Menopausal symptoms
- PMS symptoms
- Menstrual irregularities at any age.

Maca is a
dehydrated, cruciferous root vegetable -
an adaptogen herb. It is not a drug, and
has been used intensively as a benign
medicinal herb and nutrient for over 3,000
years. It adapts to the needs of your
body, and encourages your endocrine and
hormonal systems to work naturally. It
adds no hormones to your body at all. Best
of all, it's non addictive, and its
pleasant malty flavour is easy to take!
Maca is made up of
very dense nutrients that fuel and nourish
your body. It contains almost 60 phytochemicals, and a brain-powering
profile of 18 amino acids, 8 minerals, 6
sterols, and 20 fatty acids. In addition,
it contains Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B12, C, D
and E plus saponins, tannins,
carbohydrates, protein, and other
properties that make this medicinal and
nutritional plant one of the most powerful
on Earth.

Some people respond
to
Maca immediately. For others the
response takes longer. Remember that
Maca
is a food, a natural tonic, that nourishes
the body and supplies cell nutrients. The
full effect builds steadily over time, and
is sustained by a daily dose of Maca. It
is not a hormone; neither does it contain
hormones. The critical point is
consistency. Take your
Maca regularly, and
it will be effective for you.
There are no known
side effects from taking
Maca.
Most people take
the following doses, but remember that
maca affects each person according to
need, and so do be flexible about your
initial dose rate. We advise higher doses
at first, and then easing back into a
maintenance dose level. The beneficial
effects of
Maca increase with consistent,
ongoing use, and you will experience the
full, stable benefit after about three
months.

This pattern
encourages your own body to continuously
adjust to its improved level of
functioning - to work more effectively for
you. Further, it regularly refreshes your
body's response to
Maca.
To be considered an adaptogen, a plant must be non toxic and
totally harmless to the body. It must be
non-specific, and should support normal
physiological functioning of the body.
Maca meets all of these requirements.
Maca does not
contain hormones, nor does it replace your
body's hormones. It nurtures your hormonal
system so that it is able to heal,
rebalance, and work in the way it's meant
to. Take
maca for as long as you wish.
We're unaware of
any potential damage that could be caused
to someone taking
Maca. However, until
formal research is reported to the Food &
Drug Administration (USA) we advise people
with high blood pressure, or hormone
receptive cancer (such as breast or
prostate cancer), to seek the advice of a
qualified health practitioner regarding
their specific condition and needs.
Dr. Gloria Chacon
de Popovici, a Peruvian biologist,
published the results of her PhD research
on Maca in 1961. This research showed
significant correlation between Maca
ingestion and fertility in the
experimental animals, and also in sperm
motility. Dr. Chacon isolated the four
alkaloids responsible for the medicinal
and nutritional benefits of
Maca. In 2001
Dr. Chacon published "Maca: Millenarian
Peruvian Food Plant, with Highly
Nutritional and Medicinal Properties",
which contains updated information based
on her ongoing research. This is now
available in English. Other research has
been conducted by academics in Peru and
USA. Results confirm those reported by Dr.
Chacon. New evidence is emerging of that
Maca may also prevent the development of
osteoporosis.
Maca can do a great
deal to ease menopause symptoms - and
particularly MacaHRT™, which has
additional herbs specific for this
purpose. Remember, however, that menopause
is a natural stage in a woman's life.
Taking
Maca does not mean you will avoid
going through menopause. With that in
mind, however, women who begin to take
Maca in the early stages of menopause (in
the pre or peri-menopause stage) generally
report fewer unpleasant symptoms. Women
already in the menopause phase notice the
difference
Maca makes usually within a few
weeks. This is usually sustained
throughout the remainder of menopause.
Every woman's body is unique, as is her
response to
Maca.
We emphasise again
that women who begin using
Maca before
they experience menopausal symptoms adjust
more quickly and easily to the onset of
menopause. Many women have commented to us
that when they actually began to
experience hot flashes, they simply
increased the amount of
Maca they were
taking, and the hot flashes were reduced
or eliminated in a matter of days.
Women already
experiencing severe menopausal symptoms
will benefit from taking
Maca, but may
require a higher than usual dosage over a
longer period of time. Every woman's body
is different, and the amount of
Maca and
time required for it to help will vary
accordingly. Remember,
Maca is a totally
natural food that provides cell nutrients.
It is safe, and there are no known side
effects. Give your body the help it needs!
Some women may wish
to use a small amount of progesterone
cream to supplement
Maca as they begin
taking it. This can be helpful. Reduce the
amount as your body adjusts to
Maca.
South Americans
have good reason for speaking of
Maca as
"Spanish Viagra"! Of course
Maca is not
Viagra™, but its ability and success as
a totally safe and natural sexual enhancer
is becoming increasingly well known beyond
South America. Its popularity is
increasing rapidly. Unless there are
pre-existing medical conditions that could
preclude this happening, both women and
men usually experience increased libido.
Along with this response, women usually
experience greater vaginal lubrication,
and men improved erectile function.
Maca is a food - a
natural tonic, that nourishes the body and
supplies cell nutrients. Taking
Maca also
rebalances your endocrine system and helps
it to function in the way it's meant to.
This improves your blood circulation,
which in turn nourishes your brain more
efficiently and effectively. A benefit of
improved circulation is nourishment of
your skin, which will give you a more
youthful appearance.
Personal preference
is the best way to select the product you
use! All are equally effective.
Maca whole
powder is most cost effective. (It's
easiest to take in juice, smoothies,
yoghurt, or with cereal.)
Tablets are highly
concentrated and have long lasting effect.
They are convenient when you're travelling,
and also suit people who prefer not to
taste their supplements!
The liquid forms of
Maca are rapidly absorbed and have quick
results. The effects may not last as long
as that of the powder or tablets, and so
repeat doses may be required in a day. You
will need to explore your own body's
needs.
